• The CD-1 Sportsman™ Ignition System Kit includes the PC Link software and also a USB cable.  PC Link software runs under Microsoft® Windows® XP/Vista/7/8 and Windows® 10.  Older Windows® versions and Mac® are not supported.  PC Link allows the user to program all the parameters and tables within the CD-1 Sportsman™ system. Minimum PC requirement is a 300 MHz Pentium® with super VGA display (SVGA with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution).  The CD-1 Sportsman™ connects to the PC by means of the USB interface supplied with the system.  The PC must have a free USB port.

• Users can establish setup parameters including function of the general purposes input/output (GPIO) terminals and program advance curves.  The CD-1 Sportsman​™ allows download and upload to the module, opening and the saving files to disk, and print setup values including graphs for advance curves. Includes a very comprehensive on-line help system.  Program allows control strategy based on throttle position, RPM and vehicle speed windows, time delay, and first gear lockout.  All products covered by Daytona's One-Year Limited Factory-Backed Warranty.​

• The Daytona Sensors™ CD-1 Sportsman™ Kit is a complete capacitive discharge ignition system (with CD-1™ Coil) for 4-6-8 cylinder race engines and is perfect for Sportsman Drag Racing applications which use a distributor-based engine.
  
  

• The Daytona Sensors™ CD-1 Sportsman™ Ignition Kit is accepted for use in Sportsman Classes in NHRA® for competition (refer to acceptance letter from NHRA®). The CD-1 Sportsman™ version has all the same features as the standard CD-1, except that data logging is disabled as required by NHRA®. A distinctive clear anodized housing allows easy identification of the CD-1 Sportsman™ version.

• Produces an output of 135 mJ spark energy and racers can digitally set launch, burnout, and maximum RPM limits with 100 RPM steps from 3,000 to 9,900 RPM (10,900 RPM for maximum RPM limit).  The PC programmable advance features ranging from a simple RPM based advance curve to a 3D timing map with boost proportional retard.  There are dedicated input terminals for launch RPM and manifold pressure.
  ​

• Features one general purpose input and two general purpose input/output terminals. Inputs can be programmed for high gear retard, burnout RPM limit, vehicle speed sensor, and throttle position sensor.  Outputs can be programmed for RPM window switch, nitrous system activation, and multi-gear shift light functions.
  
  

• The CD-1 Sportsman™ includes a highly efficient switching power supply based on US Patents #6518733 and #6636021 and will draw less than 5 amps of current at 8,000 RPM.  Rated for continuous operation at 8,500 RPM and 85º C (185º F).
  
  

• The CD-1 Sportsman™ unit is fully encapsulated construction using surface mount electronics and is waterproof and highly resistant to vibration and shock.  The unit uses advanced 12 pin Deutsch connector for signal connections and components are a compact size and lightweight.
